Frequently Asked Questions

Just pick your date and time and prepay at least 24 hours in advance to guarantee your reservation.

All major credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal. For last minute drop-ins if there’s room, cash is also accepted.

There is no minimum for local tours. For destination kayak tours you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule for another tour.

You may get wet. Tours will be rescheduled if conditions are unsafe (ex. high winds, lightening, rough water), but not for regular rain.

Our tours designed to be suitable for all skill levels with a reasonable level of fitness. The sit-on-top kayaks you’ll paddle are super-stable and easy-in, easy-out. Of course, if you want lessons, we offer those, too.

Children between the ages of 3-8 may share a kayak with their parent/adult guardian
Older children’s maturity and skill level will determine whether they can paddle their own kayak or need to share one with an adult.
The expectation is children can swim or at least tread water.
For children 50 pounds and under, parents are expected to provide a lifejacket fitted to their child.

Probably though there is no guarantee – nature is unscripted. FYI - They don’t particularly find kayakers tasty.

You should at least be able to tread water. PFDs (personal flotation devices) are provided to all kayakers.

Tour times are specified with each tour description. Most run 3.5 to 4 hours; the bioluminescence tour typically runs 2 ½ hours.

A super-stable easy-in easy-out sit-on-top kayak, US Coast Guard approved life vest, paddle, safety whistle, access to a waterproof bag, bottled water and a light snack(on select tours). For night paddles, a glow stick.

Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a towel, insect repellant, shoes that are okay to get wet. You can bring camera though they can be distracting; we believe memories are more important than too much focus on taking pictures. For night and bioluminescent tours, many cameras are unable to adequately capture photos in the low light
You may want to bring a change of clothes.
For night paddles, bring a headlamp to be turned on as needed. Most of the rest of the time your eyes will adjust to the darkness.
Most of all, bring a good attitude!

Alcohol, drugs and firearms or weapons of any kind are not allowed.

At some launch sites yes, some no. Details will be provided in your confirmation email.

Bottled water and a light snack are provided on select tours. Details will be provided in you confirmation letter. Please give 24 hours notice if there are any dietary restrictions or preferences. If you’re taking on of our destination kayaks, the fresh, local foods will add one more memorable highlight to your trip.
