Starting in about mid-May and lasting until September, a species of marine plankton, called a dinoflagellate grows in number in the Indian River Lagoon. This little critter emits a brief 1/10 second of light when the water around it is disturbed. That doesn’t sound like much but put billions of these little guys together and you have an underwater fireworks show that you will never forget.
Our tours are limited to no more than 12 people so you don’t get lost in the crowd and can enjoy the intimacy of this spectacular show. Our guides will take you to the best spots to see the phenonium known as bioluminescence and tell you about how it happens.
